Political Science

Political scientists explore questions about law, government and humanity - questions every society faces in the world today.

Why Study Political Science?

You will learn about our political systems, political leaders, government policies, social and international conflicts, as well as sharpen your analytical research and critical thinking skills.

Our goal is for you to truly understand the discipline, develop your academic skills and think critically about the world around you. We prepare you to become a thoughtful member of society and to pursue a wide range of careers in law, political science, international relations, public administration, communications and more.

Why Political Science at Merrimack?

  • Gain skills outside the classroom when you debate constitutional issues against national teams in Moot Court or explore a public-service internship.
  • Get a front-row seat to the American political and legislative scene in our Washington Semester Program.
  • Pursue grad school - our students have gone on to study at University of Virginia Law, Notre Dame Law, University of Southern California and Georgetown University, to name just a few.
