Minor Requirements

Minor in English

The minor in English consists of the following five courses:

  • Introduction to Literary Studies (ENG 2050)
  • One 3000-level or higher course before 1800
  • One 3000-level or higher course after 1800
  • Two open electives at the 3000-level or higher

Note: One course at the 2000 level or below, exclusive of FYW 1050, may count as an English elective if taken before the end of the junior year or before the completion of a total of 24 courses.

Minor in Visual Storytelling

The visual storytelling minor is an interdisciplinary program that draws on curriculum from the department of English and department of visual and performing arts.

The minor consists of the following courses:

  • Basic Drawing I (FAA 1210)
  • Cartooning and Illustration (FAA 2220 )
  • History of Graphic Design (FAA 3850)
  • 3-D Animation and Illustration (FAA 4820)
  • Adapting Graphic Novels to Film (ENG 2780)
  • The Graphic Novel (ENG 3685)
  • Writing the Graphic Novel (ENG 3910)
